I’m Natalie Zelman, a rural Illinois-based illustrator and designer. My passion is creating art inspired by the world around me.
I hold a Masters of Fine Arts from University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL

I’m Natalie Zelman, a rural Illinois-based illustrator and designer. My passion is creating art inspired by and the common stories handed down from generation to generation.
I have completed 14 children's books. Four of them are featured below. Many of these books feature studies of respects paid to earth and one another: tales from nature; explorations of relationships; and the common stories handed down from generation to generation .
As a multi-media artist, my focus is on 2D hand-created images. My methods range from print-making, watercolor, acrylic, and collage.

As a multi-media artist, my focus is on 2D hand-created images. My methods range from print-making, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and collage.
The gallery is a repurposed farm building, and is open from May through December on varying weekends. Hours are 10-4 pm.
My studio is located nearby in another recreated space allowing me to step outside into the farm whenever I need a breath.

As a a human being, and as an artist, I've learned from the wisdom of nature that surrounds us.
Through creating, there is always the ephemeral possibility to touch the stories of past human history and connect with present awe, sorrows, and joys the world offers.
In working with printmaking, painting, surface design, and collage, I continue to create and translate inspiring visual images.
